We are delighted to announced that Ian Ray’s organ and piano recital with the theme of ‘Moonlight’ will be going ahead as planned on Tuesday 8th September at 1pm. To mark the 250th anniversary year of Beethoven’s birth the programme will include a performance of his ‘Moonlight’ sonata followed by Debussy’s popular Clair de Lune.
As you will appreciate, we must comply with Government guidelines, which will limit attendance and necessitate several measures to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. To overcome the difficulties of this normally being a non-ticketed event, please can everyone wishing to attend register in advance with Cllr Nigel Chapman, Chairman of the Friends of the Moot Hall Organ (email@example.com or 01206 272908). He will acknowledge your application; this will enable numbers to be controlled and provide the contact details to support the NHS Test and Track programme. These records will be held for 21 days.
All those attending will need to wear a face covering, unless permitted otherwise, and hand sanitiser will be available. Social distancing will apply so please do not move chairs. It would be prudent to arrive soon after 12.30, as the Town Hall is not publicly open yet and a wedding will be taking place at 12 noon. If you wish to use the lift, please let the Hallkeepers know and they will arrange access. There may be a requirement to follow a one-way system inside the Town Hall.
We look forward to welcoming you again; it will be wonderful to be able to restart our Recitals after our longer than usual annual break!
