Firstsite schools project film

During January and February various Colchester schools engaged with the Organ Restoration Project in a series of creative sessions, devised to explore the story and unique qualities of the organ through sound and mark-making.

The groups were able to experiment with organ pipes and build their own inflatable organ. They then used playful drawing tools to further explore the motion, air flow and ‘action, pause, reaction’ integral to the organ.

The drawings and sound recording created by each group culminated in the creation of this film and features sounds and visuals both created and recorded by the groups.
